What Is Icaro?

At Icaro Retreat, you’ll embark on an unforgettable adventure perfect for couples or families. Stay in a genuine airplane converted into a luxury retreat, featuring modern comforts: a comfortable bed at the tail of the plane, a cozy themed lounge with areas for movies and games, air conditioning, an open-air bathroom, and a jacuzzi under the stars.

Activities go beyond that: guests can enjoy outdoor cooking with barbecue kits, movie nights inside the plane, exotic birdwatching, guided jungle walks, and practice yoga, reading, or meditation amid peace and serenity.

During one of my expeditions in search of medicinal plants and hidden treasures in the Antioquia mountains, my plane suffered a mechanical failure and crashed deep in the jungle. Miraculously, I survived but found myself stranded in an inhospitable and unfamiliar environment. Through perseverance and survival skills, I discovered a hidden village where I was embraced by the Yaxacuna tribe—my own ancestors. With their help, I transformed the wreckage of the plane into an eco-refuge and decided to share my story and legacy through Icaro Retreat.

About Me

Hello, I’m William McGregor (you can call me Willy), an intrepid explorer born in London. Since childhood, I’ve had an insatiable passion for discovering the remotest, most mysterious corners of the world. The son of a British cartographer and an indigenous Colombian woman from the Yaxacuna tribe, I grew up listening to fascinating stories about the Colombian jungle and its hidden secrets. My spirit of discovery led me across the globe, seeking challenges and uncovering mysteries—until one mission brought me to the mountains of Antioquia, Colombia.
